A pilot with a passion for aviation, Josef Kallo is applying his expertise as an electrical engineer to the challenge of developing hydrogen-powered aircraft. After working on fuel cell EVs with General Motors, Josef Kallo returned to Germany to join the German Aerospace Center DLR in 2006, where he oversaw Electrochemical Systems Integration, including fuel cells, batteries and propulsion for aircraft. In 2014, he was also appointed Institute Director for Energy Conversion and Storage at the University of Ulm. In 2015 Kallo founded H2FLY out of the University of Ulm and DLR.
