From LRU to ironbird: How to overcome today‘s testing challenges

20 September 2023 12:40 - 13:00

Development projects in Aerospace are often characterized by time and cost constraints. New aircraft concepts, both manned and unmanned (e.g. autonomous air taxis, eVTOLs or urban air mobility concepts) lead to more demanding technology. Software, electronics and embedded systems become more and more complex.
Additionally, they need to be realized in shorter development cycles – which also requires a more complex test infrastructure. As the design of DUTs often changes during the development process, test systems also need to be adaptable to changing requirements. Dated, linear test strategies are already stretched to the limit.
In this session, SET will discuss today’s test challenges and how to overcome them to get testing out of the critical path. The new System On Demand test strategy helps companies to deliver their products on time.
Test departments can get their test systems in a breakthrough short time and start testing right away. The test system can be flexibly adapted and extended at any time – and simply reused for the next UUT in the new program. That reduces the Total Cost of Test and provides a new way of building and updating test infrastructures."
