Leonardo Aircraft Division performs Ground Vibration Testing (GVT) to assess the aeroelastic characteristic of new and extensively modified aircraft. This stage is mandatory to achieve the flutter justification required for the permitting to flight. This paper will be focused on providing a comprehensive overview of all methods and approaches applied with success by Leonardo in a such context. A Green Regional Aircraft equipped with either innovative wingtips or adaptive winglets will be herein dealt as reference to show the result achieved by the using of Leonardo test strategies and approaches.
