To prevent premature gas turbine failure, by blade crack or blade rubbing, and to optimise efficiency in operation, the CapaciSense system combines blade tip clearance and blade vibration monitoring using non-contact long-life captive capacitive probes able to withstand temperatures up to 1400ºC/2550ºF, the highest in the market, and high bandwidth electronics of up to 400kHz.
