Certifiable AI for Situational Awareness and Flight Control

Emanuele Bezzecchi is the AI roadmap manager at Leonardo Helicopters. He holds a degree in Aerospace Engineering with a specialization in Aeronautical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano and a master's in Deep Learning. He is a member of the G34 Aerospace AI Implementation and Certification Committee, which sets standards for AI technology implementation and certification in flight systems for safety. He focuses on AI investments and technology strategy at Leonardo Helicopters, coordinating a research team, collaborating with startups and universities to accelerate corporate innovation.

Marco works on projects with aviation OEMs to develop and demonstrate the capabilities of Daedalean's technology to convert it into certified aviation products. Before this, Marco worked as a Project Manager at Bühler Group.

Marco also gained experience as a Machine Learning Software Engineer at Imaging Solutions AG, where they developed an image analysis pipeline for red eye correction. Marco served as a Research Assistant in Artificial Intelligence at ETH Zürich and worked briefly as a Mechatronics Engineering intern at ETH juniors. Marco was responsible for business development in Asia, particularly China and Japan, as a Business Development Manager at Wingtra. Marco completed his  Master's thesis at RELab ETH Zürich and gained engineering internship experience at ABB and EPoS Srl.
