Bustec’s Advanced Data Acquisition and Analysis Software

01/08/2024

Bustec is excited to announce their highly capable Data Acquisition and Analysis Software, tailored for aerospace applications. This versatile software efficiently manages Bustec’s ProDAQ network interface modules, including models 6111, 6118, 6131, 6132, 6151, 6171- AA, and 6171-BA. These modules perform various functions, such as digital input, frequency, thermocouple, RTD & voltage measurement (including strain gauge conditioning and IEPE support for vibration testing). They feature network and PSU redundancy, ensuring precise scan timestamping through synchronous IEEE 1588 operation, and true synchronous operation of all channels by individual, synchronized ADCs per channel.

The software provides comprehensive instrument configuration, live status displays, and system-wide and device-level self-tests. It guarantees continuous data acquisition even if some devices are disconnected, maintaining data consistency with robust re-connection capabilities and hardware timestamping. This design ensures seamless performance and reliability in critical aerospace operations.

Designed for peak performance, it scales effectively for larger systems while maintaining high responsiveness. Its flexibility allows it to function as a system Controller, a data Listener, or a Display Client, adapting to various operational needs and ensuring network redundancy. Users enjoy an intuitive graphical interface for online and offline data analysis, supporting responsive zooming, customizable plots, and live signal measurements, including
FFT processing and sine-fitting. Multi-screen support and the ability to dock and float graphs further enhance usability.

The already delivered system managed by the software consists of three key parts:

Vibration measurement: 2x 96 channels sampling at 50 kS/s (2x 12 ProDAQ instruments).

Pressure, Strain, Frequency, and Temperature Measurement: Includes 240 channels for pressure at 2kS/s, 80 channels for strain at 2kS/s, 64 channels for frequency at 2kS/s, 112 channels for thermocouple at 2kS/s, and 224 channels for RTD at 100-1000 S/s (58 ProDAQ instruments). Isolated analog outputs provide extra redundancy, monitored by an additional subsystem with 864 AC analog input channels sampled at 2kS/s (27 ProDAQ instruments).

Miscellaneous Voltage Measurements and Digital Input: 544 channels of 0-10V measurements at 2kS/s, 128 channels for Hall sensors at 2kS/s, 96 channels for RTD at 100- 1000 S/s, and 5120 channels for digital input at 1kS/s (44 ProDAQ instruments).

This system supports real-time data display for selected channels or groups and offers data storage for offline analysis. The software ensures unlimited operation duration and the capability to import the entire dataset or selected parts for detailed analysis.
