Bruno Cathala, strategic sales & relationship director at HBK, will be among the key figures representing the company at the Aerospace Test & Development Show 2025, where the team will spotlight integrated solutions designed to support the aerospace industry's shift toward digitisation, electrification, and faster certification.

“With over 22 years in the company, my role is focused on strategic sales and partnerships within the aerospace segment,” said Cathala. “Our team looks at the mid- to long-term expectations of the market, shaping HBK’s roadmap for the next three to five years. We bridge the gap between sales, marketing, product strategy, and M&A.”

HBK – part of the Spectris Group – operates globally across aerospace and defence, automotive, and industrial sectors. Its offering is structured into three key business units: virtual testing, physical testing, and in product / in process testing, enabling end-to-end support across the product lifecycle.

At this year’s show, HBK will highlight advancements in three critical domains: structural testing, electrification, ballistic testing and propulsion system testing. “Our customers are increasingly seeking partners who can support them from early simulation through to physical validation,” explained Bruno Cathala. “We’re bringing high-performance solutions that enable faster, more accurate assessments of structural integrity, support new powertrain architectures, and deliver synchronised multi-physics data capture.”

HBK’s commitment to innovation is reflected in its recent acquisitions, including Dytran, Piezocryst, MicroStrain, and Concurrent Real Time (CCRT). These companies expand HBK’s capabilities in extreme-temperature environments, wireless sensing, inertial navigation, and real-time testing.

“Rather than just launching new products, we focus on developing holistic, integrated solutions that empower aerospace innovators,” Bruno Cathala said. “We want to enable more efficient development cycles , more reliable data, precise data analysis, and readiness for future aerospace programmes.”

When asked why HBK values the Aerospace Test & Development Show, Bruno Cathala emphasised the event’s balance of scale and intimacy. “Unlike the very large air shows, this one offers a human connection. It’s a space where we can have meaningful, technical conversations with experts as well as strategical ones  with senior leaders alike,” he said.

Visitors to HBK’s stand can expect to meet structural dynamics specialists, propulsion and electrification experts, and key decision-makers from across the company. “We welcome everyone from engineers to project managers and senior leaders,” Bruno Cathala added. “For HBK, it’s about shaping the future of aerospace testing together.”
