Photron, a global leader in high-speed imaging technology, will bring its latest camera solutions to the forefront at the upcoming Aerospace Test & Development Show, demonstrating how cutting-edge imaging supports critical aerospace and defence applications.

Renowned for its robust and precise equipment, Photron’s high-speed cameras are integral to a wide array of tests, from projectile trajectory tracking and missile launches to fuselage integrity checks, bird strike simulations, material strength analysis, and fluid dynamics research.

“Our products play an essential role in comprehensive analyses across diverse applications,” said Tim Nicholls, director at Photron. “They are specifically designed to meet the stringent demands of aerospace and defence sectors, delivering ultra-high frame rates alongside high-resolution capabilities.”

Photron’s solutions range from 60 frames per second to over two million fps at lower resolutions, enabling slow-motion capture of events too fast for the human eye. For example, the high-resolution FASTCAM Mini R5-4K records 4K video at 1,250 fps with 12-bit quality, while the FASTCAM Orion delivers megapixel resolution at up to 40,000 fps. The company’s monochrome models offer light sensitivity ratings up to ISO 64,000, ensuring clarity even in low-light testing environments.

“These cameras are also engineered to withstand extreme aerospace and defence testing conditions, where shock and vibration are considerable,” Nicholls added.

At the show, visitors can expect to see Photron’s latest product ranges, including the FASTCAM Mini R5-4K, the high dynamic range FASTCAM Orion, and the ultra-high-speed Pharsighted E9 series. The latter represents “a pinnacle of technology in the ultra-high-speed imaging field,” Nicholls explained, noting that Photron holds exclusive global distribution rights for the Pharsighted E9.

“This collaboration not only enhances our product offerings but also reinforces our commitment to providing the highest quality imaging solutions to our customers,” he said.

For Nicholls, the event offers an invaluable opportunity to engage with aerospace engineers and decision-makers. “Connecting with people who are directly engaged in the design, development, and application of high-speed imaging within aerospace industries is crucial for Photron to build and nurture existing relationships,” he said.

Photron will be exhibiting at Stand 304, where visitors will have the chance to see the FASTCAM Mini R5-4K, FASTCAM Orion, and Pharsighted E9 cameras in action.
