Shift Left in E/E testing: Schleissheimer introduces scalable infrastructure with HiLaaS option

22/09/2025

For the first time, Schleissheimer GmbH will participate at this year’s Aerospace Test & Development Show, with a booth and a forum slot, both highlighting their approach to ‘shift left’ in development and testing to save cost and time.

Schleissheimer’s Business Development Manager Jakov Sprljan, who joined the company in mid-2024 and is deeply involved in Micro HiL product management, will share the company’s approach to shifting E/E testing left, finding errors earlier, accelerating iteration cycles and reducing costs.

“It is all about moving faster through the right side of the V-Model,” Sprljan explains. “At the bottom of the V, fast feedback loops are state of the art. But by enabling earlier validation and tighter loops at higher integration levels, we help customers cut development time and achieve more sustainable testing.”

At the Aerospace Test & Development Show, Schleissheimer will highlight remote-accessed Micro HiL test stands as a key enabler of this approach. The system is scalable by design: “In Wöllstadt, Germany, we operate a Micro HiL cluster with 96 units across several projects and we are capable of building such infrastructures on customer premises as well,” says Sprljan.

To meet the demand for shorter lead times and more flexible support, Schleissheimer is introducing a new business model: HiL-as-a-Service (HiLaaS). “This approach allows us to host customer prototypes and provide secure remote access to global engineering teams”.

“We expect the first applications to benefit are highly integrated aircraft systems with many ECUs and signals, such as cabin management, seating systems or in-flight entertainment” he says, “But also other complex subsystems in modern architectures have huge potential to be tested more efficiently and with shorter cycles using our solutions,”.

By combining Micro HiL, tailored test solutions and its Bus test and analysis platform CanEasy, Schleissheimer aims to support aerospace developers in building faster, more reliable and sustainable verification processes.

In his forum session, Jakov Sprljan will outline the ‘shift left’ vision and share insights from ongoing research activities that aim to accelerate testing and create faster feedback loops at higher integration levels.
